After a busy Sunday, we decided to go out for dinner vs. cooking a late night dinner. The consensus was for Chinese food and settled on checking out this restaurant, which was new to us. Turns out this is the location that previously was La Pampa (didn't realize they were no more), so we were familiar with the layout. There's limited parking in the back thru a tight alley way, which we safely navigated. We were seated immediately, as there we two other groups in the dining area. They offer a full menu of typical Chinese plates + a full bar with a robust list of cocktails to choose from. We selected the following dishes: Fried shrimp wonton appetizer - an OK dish with not much flavor; Chicken Fried Rice - this was a good choice as it was not greasy and had some flavor; Shrimp Chow Fun - a decent dish that came with a fair amount of shrimp and light soy based sauce; Agridulce Pork - good portions of pork meat cooked in a sweet red sauce, which was went over well with everyone. Overall, the food was good, which you are able to increase the flavor profile with your choice of three table sauces (agridulce, spicy and soy). Personally, I preferred the spicy sauce as it added a good kick to all the dishes. The service was very good, as our waiter was very attentive, made us feel welcome and was pleasant throughout our stay. The only somewhat negative feedback we had is that the music was loud and created more of a bar ambiance vs. Chinese cuisine. Our recommendation would be to lower the volume a little and play more oriental style music to set the stage for an Asian food experience. Final verdict - a good place for a family meal or for a group of adults looking for decent Chinese food with a wide bar selection.
