Il Tula reminds me of the little restaurants that are manned only by the owner/chef on my visits to Italy. The owner greets and seats you and with no menu he then lets you know what he has on hand fresh that he can prepare for you at that moment. Il Tula is exactly like that! Certain antipasti were suggested which we accepted. The bead and the herbed butter tat was offered were fantastic. We started off with a delicious beef carpaccio and Vitello Tonnato. Prior to our visit, we had requested a Timpano, a rustic dough covered pasta casserole is how I would describe the Timpano. Filled with rigatoni, mushrooms, assorted other veggies, meats, cheese and sauce. It was served family style but plated for us by the chef....Superb! There are only 4 tables from what I could see so make sure you have a reservation, and please don't expect fast dining. This food is meant to be savored and it is made as you order it and most dishes are prepared and served table-side.
