I can't take anything off of the quality of the food at Salon Canton, but on this visit the service was lacking. From the moment I sat down at the table, the server approached me and talked in such a low volume that I had to lean forward, request she repeat what she said and then even apologize for my advanced age and lack of hearing, which were both severe exaggerations, to have her speak with a louder voice. Then when my wife and my other two friends joined us, and we wanted to order the same female waitress attempted to memorize our order. I politely suggested that she write down the order but she replied with annoyance that writing it down would not be needed. When I asked her to repeat the order back to me, she obviously made mistakes and only then she acquiesced and got a note pad and jotted down the order. The food was, as usual, very good. But even when I requested the check, the calculations were incorrect. This is unusual for Salon Canton but I hope it is only a fluke and not a pattern.
